Did you know we are drinking the same water the dinosaurs drank? That's right because of the water cycle there is the same amount of water today was there was millions of years ago. We have been studying the water cycle and how it works. Below you will see videos (our first youtube projects!) of students explaining the parts of the water cycle. Young People's Concert KC Symphony

Today our students enjoyed an experience that most adults have not had...listening to a live performance of the Kansas City Symphony inside the beautiful Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. I was so proud of how our third graders represented Pleasant Hill Elementary School. They were complimented by several of the volunteers on how quietly they entered and exited the building and how nicely they walked in a line. By the way, they also looked great too! Below are some photos from today.

Spirit Week (PJ day)

Rounding using Educreations

We have been learning all about estimation and rounding. Students have learned to round to the nearest 10 and 100. Today we made video using the Educreations app explaining the rounding process. Students worked in teams of two and recorded their explanations of rounding while also drawing it out. You really have to "think on your feet". Below you will find my example and each teams video.
